Wilderness Fishing Yukon
 |
Activities: Fishing, Nature, Photography |
 |
Fishing in the remote lakes of Canada's Yukon
Territory remains one of the great adventures in the
last frontier. Let Wilderness Fishing Yukon fly you and
your friends to one of 8 secluded lakes, 60 to 115 miles
north of Whitehorse, in the Yukon River basin to enjoy
some of the best fishing in the world. Most guests catch
at least one fish over 20 pounds. Our lakes have
produced lake trout up to 50 pounds and northern pike up
to 45 pounds. Three of the lakes also have Arctic
Grayling and all have whitefish and burbot. While
regulations allow one trophy of each species for
mounting, our guests prefer to have a taxidermist
produce a replica. Only small fish may be kept for
eating in camp. Fly fishermen have discovered great
sport catching trout, pike, and whitefish.
Coghlan Lake Lodge is a 'three bedroom house in the
wilderness'. The downstairs is log with a rustic living
room area plus dining and kitchen areas. The frame upper
floor has the three bedrooms and an indoor bathroom. 3
deep 14' boats with 9.9 hp motors. 20' pontoon Boat with
25 hp motor, life jackets, landing nets, and you provide
groceries, personal gear, fishing tackle, and license.
The lodge has a caretaker living in a separate cabin to
ensure you of a trouble free vacation.
The Outpost camps can accommodate parties of from two to
12 with only one camp per lake and only one party in a
camp at any time. Deep 14' boats are supplied based on
two fishermen per boat. All the camps are housekeeping
and the lakes are small enough so that guides are not
necessary.
Our forest-surrounded lakes are located in scenic
settings, where under the 24 hours of daylight in early
summer, avid fisherman can cast or troll to his heart's
content or just relax and enjoy nature. There are bald
eagles, loons, ravens, arctic terns, beavers, lynx,
mink, marten, caribou, moose and bear to watch and
photograph in their natural setting. |
