Fosstún Apartment Hotel
 

For day trips or just a short fly fishing trip to the highlands while other family members prefer to stay in a less remote area and doing other things, Fosstún Apartment Hotel is really perfect. This unique apartment hotel is built in 2004 and is located in the heart of Selfoss. You can find the apartment hotel in the town's main street. The apartment hotel is open from the first of June to 15th of August each year and offers comfortable and clean accommodation at great rates.
 

I love to stay there while doing some activities in the south of Iceland. I can wash my cloths there, have my privacy and most important of all I can be fully self-supporting what means I don't have to be back on time for having my dinner or lunches. Each apartment has dressed beds, t.v, Internet connection and a telephone. The apartment's kitchen has all standard appliances needed for having a nice stay for several days. The kitchen includes a refrigerator and microwave oven as well. The bathroom has a quite a good size and is combined with the toilet. Beds are separated so it's ideal for fishermen to share a room as well.
 

For most people that I meet here, the attractive pricing, the privacy and hospitality of the owners in combination with the flexible opportunity of being completely self-supporting is the main reason to stay here. The price even includes bed wear and towels while the use of a washing machine and dryer are available as well. Fosstún is a wonderful place to stay for fanatic hikers and bikers as well. They can reorganise, take a good break, clean their things and repacking their equipment. From Fosstún it's only a short distance to many businesses in Selfoss. For example, restaurants, supermarkets, banks and a, bakery are just around the corner. A car rental place and bus station are close nearby when needed.
 

There are lots of things to do while staying in Selfoss. You can dive in a swimming pool, go to the cinema or even play golf but I mainly stay here for my fly fishing trips, some hiking tours and the unbelievable photographic adventures that Iceland offers each photographer every day.
